I got the blog working again after I blew it up while transferring servers.  Only have default settings for the moment, but it's coming around.

Sorry I haven't been around for a few days.  My computer contracted the H1N1 of viruses and I finally wound up switching out machines.  If you go to hacker/cracker/game-fixer-upper websites, be sure it's one you know and trust.  Family member was looking for a crack so they wouldn't need to use the CD to play a game and that way they could play play over the network.  It wasn't all it was cracked up to be and my wife's computer hacked up a hairball over it.

Anyway, I will be back making rounds soon.

I just have to say how much the youtube clip I found on Two Dogs blog yesterday angered me.  I am not a trained professional and my formal schooling in the area of journalism only includes a pre-introductory introduction to Journalism 101, so I am not claiming any special knowledge, but I do have, I think, a feel for ethics, justice and common sense.

I have been gone for a while and as I mentioned before, part of that time was spent going to see dad.  Another part of the time is spent playing catch-up.  Dad's not doing so hot and it is only a matter of time.  My trip was not a complete and 100% bummer, though and I will relate some of that to you.  When mom and dad flew out here for the last time I kept a pretty detailed record and blogged each day.  I didn't do that this time.  I may have some anecdotes to relate later.

I did want to post something, if for no other reason, just to let you all know I haven't forgotten about you but frankly I haven't been in a mood to write much.  I may have to go out of town one more time very soon.

Sorry there's not much more to say at the moment.  I'll start writing and doing more than mere sporadic blog-hopping in a while.  For now, take a look at the links page http://herbthiel.com/linksframes.html and read what some of the blogs I love to follow are doing.  That is, if you will realize, as should be logical, that I cannot be responsible for what other people write about on their sites and it doesn't mean I agree with everyone's choices all the time just because I link them.

I will be flying to Wisconsin to visit Dad.  As some of you may know, he is in the nursing home and I have had numerous conflicting reports on his health and status and so I am going to see for myself.

I expect I will only have sporadic computer accessat best so I may read some e-mail, but otherwise I don't know.

I have decided how to refer to the current occupant of the highest office in our land, though.  I took part of it from Ann Coulter and part mine.  On this blog he will be referred to as President* B. Hussein Obama.

I had to make a phone call this morning to a friend back in WI who works graveyard shift and this was the only time I could talk to him.  He has been my friend even longer that Carter.  When we moved up-nort' from Milwaukee I was in the 7^th or 8^th grade and went to School in Clintonville for a while.  Second semester of 8^th grade I started talking to someone and we became fast friends.

I wanted to catch him up on some of the current events in my life and see how he was doing so I had to call at this time.  He is one of those people that never changes.  He doesn't have e-mail and at the moment has more important things to pay off, so I have to get ahold of him how I can.

I will try to give you something either later today or early tomorrow if I can.

Hide the women and children and keep yer gunpowder dry.  Well, better hide that, too.
