Been at the Man Work
Dear Fans, Friends, Fiends and Foes,
I have been busy. Being a land baron requires physical labor commonly referred to around my circles as "Man-Work." The property had been owned and loved by the same woman for about 40 years and while she was well and able to get around and inspect the work done by various craftsmen and hired hands you can see evidence that she required a job well done. I think this property would be a lot worse for wear if that had not been the case, butbut in her decline she wasn't able to get out and look at things for herself and so some things slipped by and weren't as well-maintained.
One of the things I told you about was the sprinkler system. My friend came over and shared his knowledge with me and helped me out tremendously by showing me what to fix and what to look for, and so, the yard is beginning to flourish even more than it had been and so requires timely mowing. Then there are the bushes and trees, which have to not only be clipped and pruned, but sawed and hauled. It's a good feeling. I just don't get on the computer as much as I used to, though, which bothers me because my first love is writing.
When the temperature has been above ninety in the shade and you walk barefoot through freshly clipped, freshly sprinkled grass and dig your toes into the soil, there is a feeling of accomplishment and pride and comfort you get that comes from knowing that you helped do that. However, for me, the same is true for words. To have crafted, not merely recorded or written down, but crafted, a fine sentence, one that rolls through the brain or off the tongue with a smooth finesse - well, there's an equal or greater sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
We are preparing for our annual "Heritage" youth conference and so I will be very busy with the church and will be around even less than I have lately. I run the computer for the projector for all of the services. We put the words to the songs and scriptures on the front and back walls and create slideshows for and about various events as well as announcements. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming but I like the challenge and take pride in the created product.
You know, I appreciate all of you and your comments. I have the most intelligent and classiest readership on the Internet. I apologize for not getting around so much as I should and hope that you are not personally affronted by my lack of attention. I plan to make the rounds again on most of the sites I have on my links list and several others. I will definitely read every back-issue in catching-up as well as the current offerings you have.

P.S.
Remember, the Good Book says, "Whatever ya gotta do, just gitter done." Well, some good book somewhere, maybe, or a wise philosopher or some such like. What? It's still a biblical principal...
